How we recreated a clients APAC commercials in picture perfect quality for US audiences.
Mouser Electronics came to AMS in the summer of 2020 with a unique request. A series of commercial spots had been produced in Asia and the US team wanted to recreate them for the American market. But the big question was: How do we accomplish this within our budget and achieve the same look & feel of the originals?

The Challenge
Mouser Electronics came to AMS in the summer of 2020 with a unique request. A series of commercial spots had been produced in Asia and the US team wanted to recreate them for the American market. But the big question was: How do we accomplish this within our budget and achieve the same look & feel of the originals?
The Solution
AMS was the perfect partner for this project for a number of reasons. First, our expansive production studio allowed us the room to build a set of the scale needed. Ample space was necessary for not only the set, but camera placement and other crew and equipment positions.
Second, some of our existing set flats were repurposed for the set build, and our in-house design team was able to bring the vision of the original spots to life. Lots of research and hunting went into finding the perfect props to achieve the look, and a keen eye for detail was required to get the perfect symmetry of the set just right.
Last, our Producing team knew how to stretch the budget in the right areas in order to obtain the props, gear and acting talent to pull off the spot under budget and on time. This is a key hallmark to AMS projects – we get the most out of the budget we have to work with.
The Results
The final spot was a resounding success, matching the overall tone of the original. Utilizing local talent, we shot the spots in a way that mimics the original in every way, from physical interactions with the props to facial expressions on the actors. Though we were unable to source the original music track, we found a different track that had similar musical cues but actually added more character to the piece.
